We're excited to announce that Vancouver Hawks are ready to return to the pitch!
We appreciate the last few months have been difficult for our athletes, and we appreciate your support and patience as we work with the guidance of viaSport, FHBC and health authorities to develop a Return-to-Play Plan that brings field hockey back with a safe and responsible plan. Vancouver Hawks Board of Directors have approved this plan.
While we hope things will return to normal in the not too distant future, this Return-To-Play Plan will be our new normal until we are advised otherwise by provincial health authorities. We are currently in viaSport's Phase 2 – Transition Measures. This phase allows for small group sessions, primarily non-contact skill-based training and development sessions.
The first of our new summer programs for this phase are now open for registration!
Registration and complete information is available HERE
We are offering week-long camps for youth (starting Mondays, July 6, July 13 or July 20) and plan on offering evening sessions (once per week) for youth and adults opening soon. Here is an outline of the first programs:
Hamber Field
Date Time Age Group Level
July 6 - 10 9:30-12:30 U8-U10 Intermediate
July 6 - 10 1-4pm U11 - U14 Intermediate
July 13 - 17 9:30-12:30 U15-U18 Intermediate

July 20-24 9:30-12:30 U11 - U14 Intro
July 20-24 1-4pm U15-U18 Intro

Our summer programs will...

  • feature smaller training groups; more coaches, less participants = great coach:player ratio
  • be led by excellent coaches (including MNT and WNT players)
  • include Safety Officers at every session
As a key part of our Return-to-Play plan, each participant (or parent of a minor) must provide signed acknowledgement of our new waivers and participant agreements . The Participant Agreement will be found in the registration, and the waivers can be downloaded for signature and submission. These waivers MUST be signed and submitted before your first session. We appreciate every particpant's understanding as we implement these new requirements.
To help run these programs - we will need your help. Each session will require volunteer safety officers to ensure we are following the guidelines for safe sport. If you would be able to help, please email Andrea Sullivan at
Please remember, if you choose to participate, you must follow these rules:
• If you don’t feel well or are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, you must stay home.
• If you have traveled outside of Canada, you are not permitted at our sessions until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days.
• If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.
• Wash your hands before participating
• Bring your own equipment, water bottle and hand sanitizer
• Comply with physical distancing measures at all time
• Avoid physical contact with others, including shaking hands, high fives, etc
• Leave the field of play as quickly as possible after the session is over.

Hawks at Home

Practice your skills, 15 - 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week

Prepared by Vancouver Hawks and Canadian Men’s National Team players Oliver Scholfield and John Smythe

Welcome to Hawks At Home! While we are all practicing social and physical distancing, we still have an opportunity to keep our skills sharp so when we get back on the pitch we’ll be right where we left off. Although there are many aspects of field hockey that can’t be replicated inside, it is important to practice our skills and maybe improve aspects of your own game that you usually don’t get a chance to do.

How do I order my Hawks uniform and merchandise? Vancouver Hawks uses Kukri for all their uniforms and merchandise. To order your uniform simply visit the Vancouver Hawks online store!
