VANCOUVER HAWKS BOARD – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Help the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club!

The Hawks FHC is almost entirely run through player and parent volunteering, so we’re asking for your help.

The Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club offers a full range of opportunities for men, women, boys, and girls to enjoy field hockey at all levels of play.

Volunteers help us with our Junior and Senior programs/leagues as well as through our Board of Directors.

A minimum of (3) hours of volunteer time in a Vancouver Hawks season fulfills Volunteer Bond requirements.

Here's how you can involved:

Hawks Club Community Committee 

Developing and implementing the Hawks Club Community Development Strategy for club events and opportunities for members to enjoy, celebrate our community, and give back to the club and wider field hockey community.

Junior Recruitment Working Group

Defining and implementing a Junior Recruitment and Retention Strategy for recruiting, developing, and retaining Hawks junior players. (In particular parents of U5-U12 players.)

Coaching Working Group

Defining and implementing a Coaching Strategy for recruiting, developing, and retaining Hawks coaches.

This includes coaches in the junior, senior men’s, and senior women’s leagues.

Umpiring Working Group – Defining and implementing an Umpiring Strategy for recruiting, developing, and retaining Hawks umpires.

This includes umpires in the junior, senior men’s, and senior women’s leagues.

Governance Working Group -

Reviewing and revising our constitution, bylaws, and policies.

(Volunteers are asked to commit up to 5 hours a month to these activities.)

We’re also looking for five Board of Director Members-at-Large

 

Member-At-Large (MAL): Marketing – responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a Marketing Strategy for the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club.

Day-to-day implementation of the strategy will be the responsibility of club staff.

Member-At-Large (MAL): Hawks Club Community –

Responsible for building and maintaining Hawks’ community spirit.

Supported by Volunteer Coordinator, Club Staff, and other Board Directors.

Member-At-Large (MAL): Advocacy – Responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of an Advocacy Strategy for the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club, particularly for facilities.

Supported by Club Manager and President.

Member-At-Large (MAL): Senior Men’s Coordinator –

Responsible for coordinating the Hawks’ senior men’s programs.

Supported by Club Manager.

Member-At-Large (MAL): Junior League Coordinator

Responsible for supporting the coordination of the Hawks’ junior league programs by the Club Administrator.

Supported by Club Manager and Age Group Coordinators.

Volunteers are asked to commit 5-10 hours a month for one year for these roles.
