Community Coach Certification Course - CONFIRMED March

Community Coach certification course is booked for March 8th/10th 6:30-10PM, at Kerrisdale Community Centre, and 8:30-1:30 at Point Grey Turf on Sunday March 13th. Please register at Field Hockey BC. Please read the description of the course below. It is appropriate for all Junior coaches, particularly at the U12 and under ages. To be certified you must attend ALL three sessions.
COMMUNITY COACH
This is the entry level course for coaches coaching in the 6 to 10 age groups.
The Community Coach Children's course is tailored to coaches working with players in the 6 to 10 age groups. The contents of this course are based around the FUNdamentals of mini-field hockey and touch on the following areas: stages of development, basic practice planning, the role of the coach, ethics, safety and liability, review of mini-game rules, basic skill development and ample amounts of sample practice sessions. This course meets the NCCP standards for the field hockey technical and practical components.
Participants will not be permitted to leave the course to coach or play in games. It is suggested that the participants make arrangements to have their teams looked after by the assistant coach(es).

Course Length: 10.5 hours
Course Fee: $125 (reimbursable by Vancouver Hawks FHC)
