2009 Fall Update
GIRLS! Want to play more Field Hockey?
For Vancouver area players who want to play more field hockey please consider a couple of these upcoming opportunities:
Hawks Club Girls Skill Development and Tune-up.
Open to all players ages 12-18 (born 1998-1992)
When: Mondays, November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.
Where: Wright Field (UBC campus) from 7-8:30.
Cost: $50 no drop ins.
How: Register online
Coach: Ben Martin, former Hawks Club junior and current member of the Canadian Senior Men’s National team.
Field Hockey BC Regional Development Program.
For players U18 (born 1993-1992).
The Regional program is a Field Hockey BC run program targeting committed U18 athletes who reside or go to school in Vancouver. Players should be interested in improving their skills and team strategies. It is a 6 month program from November-April, with over 20 hours of instruction. Vancouver players will combine with North Shore players to represent the Northwest region in a Provincial Tournament in the spring. You must try out for this program.
Try-outs for U18 players take place Fri November 20th from 5-6:30, Hamber Field and Sun November 22nd from 7:30-9:00

For players U16 (born 1994-1995).
The Regional program is a Field Hockey BC run program targeting committed U16 athletes who reside or go to school in Vancouver. This is a 2 phase development program. The first phase is the training, where the emphasis is on individual skills. The 2nd phase is a Jamboree where athletes will be placed on teams for a tournament in late spring. Players should be interested in improving their individual skills. It is a 6 month program with over 20 hours of instruction. Vancouver players will combine with North Shore players for the first phase. You must try out for this program.
Try-outs for U16 players take place Fri November 20th from 6:30-8:00, Hamber Field and Sun November 22nd from 6:00-7:30.

For players U14 (born 1997 and 1996)
There is no fall Provincial development program for the U14 age group. Players are encouraged to join the Hawks Club Skill Development program. Look for information on Field Hockey BC in the near future. There is a FHBC spring development program planned for March and April.
