Canada vs. The World Challenge Cup

March 11 2009

Canada (in white) celebrates with the rest of the World (in black) after the first ever Right to Play - Canada vs. the World - Challenge Cup.  The Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club raised $450 for Right to Play in this intra-club friendly.  Canada defeated the World 3-1 in a passionate game that featured national anthems, a hail storm, enthusiastic fans, and spirited hockey.   Richard Denny and John McBryde (in red) graciously umpired the charity match. The Vancouver Hawks FHC genorously provided access to the field.
