Junior Umpire Training

All players ages 12-18 (born 1997-1992) are eligible to umpire U11 and U12 games. Games are on Saturdays at Eric Hamber during the junior season. Games are 1 hour long and you will be paid $15 per game.  You must attend one classroom session and one on-field session.  You will be mentored in the first few weeks of the season.

Cost: $15.00

When: 6:00-7:30pm

Where: Hawks Office, 203 - 5455 West Boulevard.

On- Field

Date: Monday March 29th.

When: 6:00-7:30pm

Where: Eric Hamber Turf Field

 

Junior Umpiring for in the U13- U16 age group games

If you have completed the junior umpiring training and have umpired at least one year in the U11 U12 age groups and you are interested in further Umpiring training you need to complete your Community Umpire Certificate (used to be called Provincial B) through Field Hockey BC.

To become a Community level umpire (this is the entry level) you must attend a Provincial Umpiring course, attain at least 75% on your written exam and be assessed as an umpire at two games. If you pass your assessment, you will be eligible to umpire U14-U16 games during the 2010 junior season.

Provincial Umpiring Course.

 When: Thursdays March 18th & March 25th, 6-9pm, Field Hockey BC Board room, 202-210 West Broadway.

Cost: $60 (save your receipt, the Hawks will reimburse you upon completion)
